With a fresh coat of paint and vibrant, updated posters, this space is more engaging than ever. Kids can dive into interactive fun with a medical matching game or take on the role of caring providers as they give baby dolls check-ups. This exhibit offers a playful way for children to build empathy, spark curiosity, and explore the world of healthcare!

Coming March 2026!

A new temporary mini exhibit, Let’s Get Growing, invites young learners to explore the amazing world of plants! Children can get creative with a hands-on flower-building toy set, examine models that illustrate the different stages of plant growth, and discover engaging informational graphics throughout the space, highlighting types of plants, how they grow, and the many ways plants are used in our everyday lives.

This interactive exhibit encourages curiosity, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world—perfect for budding botanists of all ages!

Help Fight Hunger in Muncie!

Step into the Ice Age with Muncie Children’s Museum’s new hands-on mini exhibit! Visitors can dig for dinosaur bones and fossils in the Fossil Dig, take shelter from the cold in the Ice Cave, and use excavation tools to break dinosaurs free from ice during the scheduled Ice Excavation activity times. Visit today before the exhibit goes extinct!

Special “Thank You” to Ali Yakos, Emmie Copper, Greta Hannon, Clayton Dick and Brooklyn Grey from the Muncie Youth Leadership Program for taking the time to pour into our Outdoor Learning Center as a part of their group service project. This group of local high school students cleaned up our existing flower beds and brought it back to life by planting new flowers. The group also planned an activity to be utilized by MCM as part of their group project.

The Muncie Youth Leadership Program through Shafer Leadership Academy is offered to selected Muncie Central, Burris Laboratory School, and Indiana Academy students with a goal to explore the dynamics of leading groups. Through the two-semester program, students gain insight on the relevance of what it means to be a leader on campus and the surrounding community of Muncie.

Starting in 2025, MCM is taking a huge step forward in fulfilling our commitment to providing ALL children the opportunity to experience and enjoy everything our Museum has to offer. As of January 1, 2025, children and families who participate in any of the qualifying programs listed below are eligible for $1/person admission ($5/family max) to the Muncie Children’s Museum during any regular business hours:

• CSHCS (Indiana Children’s Special Health Care Services)
• CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program)
• HIP (Healthy Indiana Plan – Basic and Plus)
• Hoosier Care Connect
• Hoosier Healthwise
• Medicaid
• SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
• TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
• WIC

To receive the reduced admission rate, families simply present proof of participation in any of the qualifying programs to our front desk staff.

MCM is excited to offer this opportunity to offer admission at a significantly reduced rate! With Access for All, a qualifying family of 4 can visit the Museum twice for the cost of one regular admission.
