A Day of Play

We would like to invite the community to our Day of Play!

A Day of Play is designed to bring the museum right to you through both fun and educational activities!

From Saturday, August 21st to Saturday, August 28th, you and your friends and family can participate in a list of 10 challenges (both at-home and at fun locations throughout Muncie) and try to earn a prize!

Sat, Aug 21st – We’ll kick it off via Facebook live @ 11 am – pick up your clues and Supplies at MCM 11-1.

Over the next 7 days, participants can work on completing the 10 challenges using the clues and supplies provided, wear their event t-shirts, and take a selfie or video when completing a challenge to share with the event Facebook group!

To finish the event, we will celebrate at the museum on August 28th. All participants will get a small prize. If all 10 challenges are completed, they can then enter into a drawing for the grand prize!

The event will cost $15 per participant or $75 per family of 5 or more. Liz Marshall, Founder & Passionate Educator

In 1977, when the Muncie Children’s Museum opened for the first time, it was at the hands of a small group of women determined to bring a child-oriented learning facility to Muncie. One of those women is Liz Marshall. Liz is still very involved with the Muncie Children’s Museum to this day and continues to guide us in ways that positively impact our community. Liz was recently highlighted by her alma mater, Miami University. This article describes Liz and her passion for educating children in innovative ways when the museum opened. Take a look!

#GivingTuesday 2019 Is Here!

We’re thrilled to partner with GivingTuesday on #GivingTuesdayKids! With youth shaking up and spearheading many of the major movements on key issues facing our world today, from climate change to healthcare to student debt, GivingTuesday is helping amplify the next generation of young leaders to be organizers, thought-leaders, and campaign managers for a more generous world.

The Muncie Children’s Museum is asking for YOUR help in supporting our campaign: “Act 4 R Animals!” Kids can get involved by putting their change in the wishing well or the cash tower November 1 – December 3. The funds we raise on Giving Tuesday each year help to pay for the care of our amazing museum animals!

All donations in the museum and online the day of Giving Tuesday will be matched by First Merchant’s Banks. For every $5 we raise, they will add $1. Many thanks to our friends at First Merchant’s!
